2017 Honda WR-V for South America and India

The Japanese automaker is set to bring in a novel compact crossover for the next year with the name, 2017 Honda WR-V, after recently introduced its new BR-V that was made exclusively for the Asia. The new model will be constructed on the same platform as that of the Honda Jazz, actually, it is Jazz but crossover variants. It will be marketed initially in South America and later in India sometime in 2017. The new crossover will be referred internally with Honda 2FM as a codename and it will have its global debut at the Sao Paolo Auto Show to be held in November 2016 in Brazil. Honda has huge hope with this new crossover and as some rumors claim that, the company is aiming at the monthly average sale of 5,000 vehicles, with production starting in December. Its major competitors are Renault Duster and Ford Ecosport.

The new Honda WR-V is expected to come with the same external profile as that of the high-riding Honda Jazz. However, the front part of the vehicle is slightly modified with the fitting of a redesigned bumper. The headlight systems are designed with the LED technology, and the grille in the front is slightly modified to offer the vehicle an aggressive and luxurious front look.
The side profile of the new vehicle stays the same, as well, and it displays the same body lines, similar to those on the Jazz hatchback from which it has been derived. The new vehicle comes equipped with a fin-shaped antenna as well as with new roof rails. The new model vehicle will be offered with a set of 17-inch alloy wheels as standard.

Around back, the Jazz adaptation has been electronically modified to provide a cleaner look by means of a flat chrome dress up below the rear glass and the relocated number plate bay. The new 2017 Honda WRV stands high, and it includes body cladding below both the front and the back bumpers. It also highlights the side part that runs from the bumper in the front to the arches of the front wheels.

This time, the new Honda WR-V 2017 will not experience much change in its interior design and it will be equipped with the similar interior features as Honda Jazz(Fit). However, there may be some aesthetic tweaks in the seats and some updated versions in the equipment section to make it more current, according to the expectations of modern day buyers.

Engine

Consistent with the reliable company resources, the South American version of the 2017 Honda WR-V comes equipped with a gasoline engine with the displacement of 1.5L i-VTEC or old options FlexOne E100 with 1.5L. This engine is expected to produce the greatest power of 116 horsepower and it will be mated to a five-velocity manual or automatic transmission.
The Indian version of the new WR-V is anticipated to carry over the same powertrain, used to power the Jazz hatchback. This will be an i-VTEC engine with the capacity of 1.2 liters, which can generate the maximum power of 90 horsepower and the maximum twist of 110 Nm.
The new Honda WR-V 2017 is also expected to be powered by an i-DTEC diesel engine with the capacity of 1.5 liters that delivers the maximum power of 100 horsepower and the maximum twist of 200 Nm.

Base price and the date of release
The 2017 Honda WR-V is expected to hit the dealerships for sale in the United States during the first quarter of 2017. As far as the base price of the new vehicle is concerned, it differs according to the type of the equipped transmission system. Accordingly, the new WR-V that comes equipped with the manual transmission system will be available at a starting price of $ 17,000 whereas the automatic transmission model will be sold at a base price of $ 21,300.
