The Honda Clarity 2018 exterior has been entirely redesigned hence giving the car a futuristic and lasting design. The car has a front with a large and unique grille with an iconic Honda logo. From the interior look of a 2018 Clarity Plug-in Hybrid, it is a real family car and easy to use. The later models of Honda Hybrids could be a bit tricky from its many buttons, but this is not the case with the latest Clarity. Its dashboard is almost empty with an 8-inch infotainment screen with climate control. The interior is divided into four sections. There is the batteries position located right in the middle part of the car tending to split the vehicle into two halves. The 2018 Clarity is fitted with a shift in wire technology making the car have a more comfortable driving interface and also helps save space. Also included in the interior technology is the SMS texting capability, HD radio, Sirius XM and Pandora.

Safety measures Honda also has some safety measures techniques such as the side air curtain airbags, lane keeping assist system, a cruise control that is adaptive and automatic corrosion brakes that are mitigated. In coming versions, there will be additions to protect the hydrogen cells. The vehicle also comes with automaker’s selection of safety technologies known as Honda Sensing.

Engine and performance

The most interesting part of any hybrid car is the engine. The Honda Clarity plug-in Hybrid 2018 model combines its strong electric motor with a maximum output power of 181 horsepower and a torque of 232 lb-ft. by a small lithium battery of 17-kWh with a 1.5-litre inline-four Atkinson-cycle gasoline. All-electric range is about 42 miles. Its electric engine has zero absolute zero emission of gases. The overall driving range is 330 miles, the battery will recharge for about 2 h 30 min at 240 volts. Fuel economy is 105 MPGe (EPA rating).

Clarity Electric powertrain comes with 161 ponies from electric motor, and torque of 221 lb.-ft. Tih one posses bigger battery pack with 25.5-kWh. Fuel economy is city 120 / highway 102 / combined 111 MPGe, the battery can be charged for about 2 h 50 min, with 240 volts (DC fast charging). Furthermore with using SAE Combined Charging System sedan can be charged to 80 % for half an hour. Honda Clarity Fuel Cell has the biggest range, about 366 miles. Fuel consumption is 68 MPGe combined.
The sedan has the couple of driving modes Normal, Econ and Sport, and HV mode which extends battery life. The mode is always used in combination with first three modes.

Price and Release Date

It is highly believed that the new 2018 Honda Clarity Plug-in Hybrid shall hit the roads by the end of the year 2017 but rumors from the Honda website state that the company might postpone its launch to an earlier date at the beginning of the year 2018 and we can only wait for its unveiling. Its actual launch price is not fixed, but sources claim that the average price of the Honda Plug-in shall be between $33,400 to around $34,290.
