2017 Acura RDX Rumors, Refresh

Since its debut at 2006 New York Auto show, the Acura RDX has been a darling of many people. The RDX was developed as a compact luxury crossover SUV with a capacity of holding up to five adult passengers. Since its launch, this SUV has gained much popularity and emerged as a great addition to the Acura SUV line. The 2017 Acura RDX SUV will be an improvement of the current 2016 model, which is in its second generation.

With each day passing, the auto market is becoming increasingly competitive, thus pushing the developers to come up with more creative car designs that have ultimate performance. The Honda Company is expected to launch a more updated model that accompany several changes to bring out a trendy model which has a sporty look and a gorgeous bodyline.

The 2017 Acura SUV is expected to feature some improvements and changes in its design to have a fresher look. Apart from the significant visual changes, the new model will feature Honda’s late Jewel eye LED headlights, freshly designed air intakes, 3D grille, and a wider bumper. At the back end, the 2017 model is expected to showcase new tail lights, well-designed back bumper, and exhausts.

Another great feature with the 2017 model is the fact that it features a spacious truck to offer more space for people who loves travelling. As a result, the car length is expected to change slightly. The wheel size is also another feature that has been enhanced. New 2017 Acura RDX SUV comes with 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels and optional wider 19-inch rim wheels that have better suspensions that will tackle different terrains comfortably. RDX 2017 Dimensions are: Wheelbase 105.7 in (2685 mm), Length 184.4 in (4685 mm), Width: 73.7 in (1872 mm) and Height: 65.0 in (1650 mm).

The model is expected to come with a fresh interior with a beautiful leather finish. The model will come with a technology package that will include a Blind spot information, new semiconductor diode daytime running lights, HD radio, as well as rear and cross traffic alert. Clients can also have options of selecting the a model that features the advance package that includes front fog lights, rain sensing wipers bi directional key less remote engine ignition, GPS with voice recognition, completely ventilated front seats, front and rear-parking sensors and trademark Acura Watch. In addition to these classic features, the RDX 2017 redesigned model is also expected to come with premium quality audio system, a multizone air conditioning, a centrally located console with HD display, and wide variety of latest connectivity settings and options.

Engine Specs and performance

Under the hood of the 2017, RDX model will be a new engine that is expected to be the best in fuel economy and performance in RDX class. This is a 3.5L liter V6 24-valve SOHC i-VTEC engine, with an ability to produce 279 HP @ 6200 rpm and 252 LB –ft of torque @ 4900 rpm. This engine is expected to have a fuel efficiency of city 20 mpg / highway 28 mpg / combined 23 mpg for Front-wheel drive and city 19 mpg / highway 27 mpg / combined 22 mpg for AWD. The 2017 Acura RDX engine will be mated with a nine-speed automatic transmission. New RDX comes with front-wheel drive mode and all-wheel drive system(optionally). New 4 cylinder turbo engine is rumored to be released in the coming years, but there is no official confirmation.

Release Date and expected Price

The Honda officials have not confirmed the new Acura RDX 2017 release date and price. However, this model is expected to hit the market in the last quarter of 2016. Although the price has not been announced, the 2017 model is expected to be close to that of the model. This means that the price is expected to hover in between $35,000 – $42,000.
