Since the officials have not yet communicated about the power train of the new civic sedan, a few stories have been circulating about its powertrain range. Latest models from Honda come with the variant engine and this is expected to continue with the civic sedan. We expect to see the sedan coming with at least three number of engines that have different performance. We are also speculating of having the fourth hybrid version of Honda civic 2017 model.
However, we have some sources that informed us that the company is expected to launch a sedan that is powered by the same engine as the hatch, the capacity of 174-hp, 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. This engine was presented with New Civic hatchback at New York car show. This powertrain goes from 0-60 for only 7,1 sec, if we consider the size of engine it is a pretty good result. The source also shared with s that the company would improve the sedan fuel consumption significantly. Combined consumption is 32 mpg for LX, and 32 mpg for turbo engine(EX-T). Honda claims that turbo engine has 42 mpg on the highway. However in some car tests, Civic turbo sedan got result of 21 mpg in the city and 45 mpg on the highway.
It should be another 2017 Honda Civic Sedan engine, it is a four cylinder 2.0 turbocharged unit with better performance, but not officially confirmed.
